YLF Quotes From Delegates and their Families:

The Youth Leadership Forum is an invaluable experience no matter what your disability. The most rewarding part is meeting other individuals with different disabilities and seeing how they cope with everyday situations that you may take for granted. It gives you a greater appreciation and confidence of your own abilities."

-Jason Fisher, 2002 MD-YLF

"I feel that the Maryland Youth Leadership Forum is a wonderful group to belong to. You will meet people who are in many ways just like you, as an alumni from the YLF 2005, I can really say that your life will be forever changed. You will learn not only how to advocate for yourself but for other individuals who are disabled. You will learn to become confident within yourself to admit that you have a disability whether it be seen or hidden, you will NOT let it stop you for doing what you want to do and being who ever you want to be."

-André E. Hill, 2005 MD-YLF

"The Maryland Youth Leadership Forum was above and beyond what I ever thought it would be. It allowed me to meet people like myself and have fun while learning about the opportunities Maryland has for people with disabilities. The people I met while at the forum have become my life-long friends, and the week I spent at MD-YLF is one that will never be forgotten."

-Katelin Anderson, 2001 MD-YLF

"He was inspired by the staff and the other participants, excited about the state legislature and personally empowered by the entire program. Thank to you (YLF) our (son) openly identifies himself as a young leader now".
